I have been on this planet for 50 years and I live in cute little cottage in Lancashire – that’s in the North West of the United Kingdom if you’re not familiar.
I have enjoyed a 20+ year career in various people-related roles starting at the ground level and working up to HR Director position. I’ve always worked in male dominated environments, working with specialists and technicians and particularly those in the Information Technology space. For 7 years I ran a consultancy business that provided specialist HR and Employment Law support to small businesses in Lancashire. Most of my clients were male. I started this from scratch and grew it into a saleable asset.
My career was my lighthouse, my port in the storm. It was the thing that kept me focused and sane. As a single parent I had to provide for my daughter and I wanted to make sure she didn’t suffer for not having a father in her life. Work was also a brilliant strategy for distracting me from the deeply held shame and self-blame about my unsuccessful personal life. Oh yes, I got really good at beating myself up!
Here my self-development journey started. I’ve always been fascinated with the Human Experience and childhood trauma, so I’ve been a self-directed student of psychology for many years and was an accredited DISC profiling coach for many years.
I love helping others (I was in HR after all!) and after much soul searching I decided I wanted to train as a practitioner in Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy, Hypnosis and Reiki and I hired my own coach for the first time in my career.
Add to that toolbox being a trauma-informed coach and huge fan of somatic healing through my work as a breathwork practitioner, birth doula and trainee yoga teacher – I have no shortage of tools to draw upon.
I have been coached and mentored by some of the biggest names in the industry. I’ve spent over £1000k in the last 10 years immersed in my own personal development and I’m accredited to coach using three simple psychological principles which are being referred to as “the renaissance in psychology”. Principles that are the TRUTH behind every human experience.
I now get the privilege and joy of working with female business owners, HR professionals and female leaders to help them to find their authentic, true selves.
